In France, it opened a new geothermal power plant

It turns out that geothermal power plants, which today is automatically assigned the status of eco-friendly "green" energy, and often carry a range of serious problems - for example, increased greenhouse gas emissions, also formed in the ground failures that scientists are very concerned. However, despite all these difficulties, geothermal power Rittershoffen was opened in France.

One of the negative consequences of the use of geothermal power plants (gas turbine power plant) - is the formation of voids and gaps in the ground, which sometimes reach up to 10 meters. Another problem - it is a large amount of greenhouse gas emissions that are not very well fit into the concept of "green" Europe. Nevertheless, France has overcome all barriers to the implementation of the project and has recently opened a powerful genset Rittershoffen.
Relatively large-scale project was developed thanks to the support of the French by the Environmental Protection Agency and Energy Management. The construction of the station carried the company Electricite de Strasbourg (ES), Roquette and Caisse des Depots.

According to the Roquette, this project is the first attempt to use geothermal energy performance. In particular, the peak capacity of the plant may be about 190 MW, her work will be carried out through the use of deep-lying water - up to 2500 meters
. Recall that recently began operating in France is another "green" project - the country's largest solar power plant in the southern part of the department of Gironde, near the city of Cestas. Power Complex is 300 MW.
