A modular home made of cardboard, which will stand for 100 years

design team, united under the name of Fiction Factory, has created an eco-friendly house Wikkelhouse, which is fully recyclable and can be installed in any location.

Designers of Amsterdam developed a modular design of the cardboard pieces that can be assembled in one day and used as an office, home or shop.




The construction is assembled from individual modules width of 4, 6 and a length of 1, 2 m. Accordingly, the house has a predetermined width slightly greater than 4 m and length may vary depending on the needs of the owners.



Each section is made of 24 layers of cardboard coupled ecosafety adhesive. Exterior design is protected by a waterproof breathable film and otdelkoy.Vnutri wooden walls are covered with a layer of plywood with a pleasant natural pattern.



Because of their ease of all components does not require building the foundation, which reduces the cost and simplifies the construction of the assembly process. If necessary, the construction can be quickly dismantled and transported to a new location.



The developers claim that this house will serve the owners of 100 years. However, as in the structures of any other material, the protective film have to be changed every 30-50 years.
