A total of three studies. The first of these involved 921 people. Scientists have found that extroverts prefer to relax by the sea, and introverts - in the mountains. This correlation between the preferred holiday destination and other personality traits (a penchant for sincerity and desire to please others and a predisposition to neurosis) is not traced.

The second study involved 226 people. Scientists have found that people whose purpose is to communicate with others on the nature, prefer to do it more often at the seaside than in the mountains (75% instead of 25%). When the purpose of the respondents had rest, the results were divided almost equally (48% and 52%).

Finally, in the third study involved 51 people who live in different states in the US with relief. Among those who lived in the mountain states were more introverted.

Reasons for introverts prefer mountains, unknown.
