The fate of Viktor Ivanovich Baranov, the Soviet "counterfeiter number 1" might have been different if the homeland has been applied his remarkable talent.
As a child, Victor was fond of collecting old banknotes. Colored pictures of royal personages fascinated him. He has heard that there are people who can produce the same, but did not imagine that one day will be able to do something similar.

I not once offered his invention to enterprises, but they are for the most part remained unclaimed. Then Baranov "for self-affirmation" and to finance its own inventions is taken for the production of money.

Next to the house was located inventor shed in which he equipped his "research laboratory". Overcome by new ideas, Viktor did not go out for days.

April 12, 1977 he was arrested on the collective farm market town of Cherkessk in the sale of another batch of counterfeits. It turned out that Viktor had constructed a unique printing machine, molded shape and composition of paint. Baranov printed fakes to 30 thousand rubles, and, made only the most difficult to counterfeit dvadtsatipyatirublevki. Now paint Baranova demand even abroad, and some of his know-how is still used in the Goznak.
