It is extremely difficult to get a man to commit murder

Even in war soldiers rarely opened fire on vragu

Contrary to popular belief, the murder - a rarity, and not because it is illegal. After the Second World War, Brigadier General S. L. A. Marshall decided to talk with some of his soldiers. He asked them whether they were killing Nazis on the battlefield, and to his surprise, the deepest, most often heard answer is "no" - only 15-20% of the soldiers were firing at the enemy. All of these people were under enemy fire and could die at any time, but most of them could not bring himself to pull the trigger.

Apparently, it was the first time in history, when the commanders decided to ask its soldiers that they were killed on the battlefield. And the answer often was loud: "Oh my God, no!". Marshall indirectly addressed the thousands of soldiers from various armies, and often received the answer again and again - people do not like to kill other people.

In 1986, the British military did in this study, the second step. They looked at the statistics on those killed in wars over the last two centuries, and compared it with the computer's calculations of those who had to die. According to calculations, to die in the war was far more people than died in fact.

But there is a fly in the ointment: the modern military successfully kill all this "pacifist nonsense" in the bud. If rehearse killing imaginary enemy again and again, in the end, the soldiers will kill automatically, without even thinking about what to do - and this is true for most people.
