A tree not like a tree
Belgian sculptor Xavier Puente Vilardell works not only with wood. This is just one of the many directions in his creative search for himself.
However, today we will talk exclusively about Xavier Puente Vilardell’s work with wood as a material for sculpture. According to the author himself, he was so impressed with the traditional craft for most Mediterranean countries that he decided to try his hand at it. Thus was born a series of intricate wooden sculptures. Some look like paper scrolls, and others, as if someone decided to squeeze them, or even imitate a piece of fabric, but certainly do not look like wood products.
