April 19, 1989 at 10h. 12 min. am one of the airfields BVVAUL MiG-21UB piloted Miškinis cadet and instructor pilot Captain Popov VB - To carry out a training flight from take-off to the "assembly line". After takeoff, at an altitude of 150 m in engine aircraft hit the bird, the engine stopped, the aircraft started a fire. Instructor pilot Popov VB powered device bailout. Cadet alive (later, after 2 months filed a report on the dismissal of the Soviet Air Force). Popov VB due to abnormal activation of the catapult was injured incompatible with life and died in a hospital in Voronezh aviation.
