Cotton tree Freetown
Freetown - the capital of the African state of Sierra Leone. One of the symbols of the city is a unique cotton tree, located in the old part of the capital. Moreover, it is worth it for a long time.
No one really knows the age of the tree. However, the documents say that when arrived here in 1787, the year the first settlers, cotton tree was already here. According to legend, escaped from slavery of black people landed and pray for the future of freedom and of salvation, in the shade of this tree. Today, the cotton tree is regarded not only as a symbol of Freetown, and Sierra Leone as a whole. There still are prayers, in gratitude to their ancestors for giving freedom.
