Why does every athlete should do yoga?



1. Regular practice strengthens muscle mass and increase strength. Trains muscle groups, little used in disciplines such as swimming, cycling and running.

2. Sustainable balance and coordination mean better body control, and this is very useful for winter sports: skiing, skating, snowboarding and summer: surfing, wakeboarding, rollers.

3. Flexibility. Yoga invariably improves joint and muscle flexibility. Improved flexibility increases the productivity of our body for a particular movement or series of movements.

4. The physical benefits of yoga for an athlete enormous. But they are nothing compared to the psychological benefits. Most people, especially athletes, tend to think of yoga as a "training the body", but relaxing in Shavasana - meditative posture, sooner or later they come to inner peace.
