The tram park in Tver

Tver tram - one of the types of urban passenger transport in Tver. He began his work August 28, 1901.
Tver tram operated by municipal unitary enterprise "urban electric", is served by two tram fleet, as of January 2010, there were 7 routes and connects all four districts of the city.
All tram lines were originally a single-track, had patrols. Track width is 1000 mm. Tram depot was built on the banks of the River Tmaka, near the present street Sophia Perovskoy (the former site of the depot is a building of "Tverenergo"). All the cars were brought from Belgium.

However, as a replacement for the line on the street Uritskogo line was opened for a new street parallel to it - Tverskaya Avenue. From transport routes from the street Uritskogo on Tverskaya Avenue tram network has won, not lost: no longer need to pass two tight curves when driving in the direction of north - south (Riverport - Kaposvár area).
Kalinin tram in 1970-1980-ies was considered exemplary. Tram lines were in most parts of the city, the tram was the main mode of transport (subject to availability, and trolley bus).
The highest development of the tram network reached in 1990 - has been opened on the final section of the station "Boulevard Tsanov" ("Fish Factory") to the Southern neighborhood.
After 1991, in spite of the changes occurred in the country, managed to find a way to open a new tram route (№18, «DSK" - "The Ring"). It has existed for several years. 18th route number was the highest in the history of Tver.
