As the Japanese tried sushi ... Belarus
We all, of course, know that the sushi prepared we are quite different from the Japanese. Well, we know ... heard. After all, Japan had come not for everyone. We also were not Japan. So I asked an acquaintance Japanese confirm or deny this established fact. They bought the most, in our view, delicious sushi and they were treated to a guest east. His impressions, read our reportage. 14 photos
Takeshi - a student of the 4th year Medical University of Fukushima. The future turned out to be a neurosurgeon in Gomel through student exchange program. For two weeks he lived in the dormitory of the Gomel Medical University, attended lectures, visited the hospitals of the city. In addition, local students are prepared for the Japanese rich cultural program. Two weeks Takeshi saw everything: the park, a circus, a bath, tried vodka, pancakes and fried bacon ... On the last day before leaving, we invited him to enjoy what he is so lacking.
In fact, to organize our experiment was not easy. With surprise, we found that only recently outlandish for Belarusians Japanese delicacy is now prepared for each second restaurant in Gomel. Yes there dining! Any self-respecting supermarket is committed to put in the windows of at least a dozen types of sushi.
...
In order not to get lost in all this variety, we decided not particularly wise and ordered Japanese food in places that are often heard at Gomel. So, at the sushi bar Taboo took a portion of the rolls "Toshiya," in the "Grill House" - "Sensei" and "Alaska", a sushi bar cultural and entertainment center "Europe" bought "Philadelphia", and in the newly opened restaurant Shogun We purchased a couple of kinds of Kani. For the purity of the experiment also went to the supermarket "Almi" and they took it rolls colored "Hiashi," "Samurai" and "Kyoto". They were also the cheapest. Most also expensive - in the Shogun (9 salad stuff and had to shell out 175 thousand.) And "Europe" (portion cost $ 98 thousand.).

It's hard to tell what the Japanese think when he sees the non-Japanese sushi ...
So far we have removed them from the plastic containers, Takeshi sat stone-faced. Maybe prayer can silently cursing ... Whatever it was, it was time to try it.
The first dish - from the restaurant Shogun. Looks beautiful. And what about the taste?
...
Takeshi long chewed roll, then still the same silent, then suddenly issued:
- Very strange. Here, instead of fish crabmeat. We do not use it to roll. And rice is very strange. I can not even explain it, but he's not right, - criticized Takeshi dish.
- Rice and fish - the most important component. Without them it is impossible real sushi. Fish should only be used is that a few hours ago swam in the ocean. In many restaurants it caught right in front of the aquarium you and in your presence also of her sushi - says Japanese.
- The cheapest sushi in Japan are around $ 5-7. But cheap does not mean bad. Even inexpensive sushi are fresh fish. Just those that a higher price will be prepared by chefs have expensive restaurants. For this will have to pay up to $ 50-70. By the way, a portion of land in Japan is not 8 like you, and from 12 rolls - induct Takeshi.
- And this - the most popular among Belarusians - "Philadelphia" - push up close to Japanese plate with rolls of "Europe."
