Jim Richardson - American photojournalist working in the National Geographic Society
The subjects of his works include volcanoes, agriculture, rivers and aquifers; Britain, especially the people, culture and landscapes of Scotland, the home of his parents - Cornwall and the whole Celtic world.
The first story Richardson National Geographic magazine appeared in 1984. Since then, he has become one of the most popular contemporary photographers.
Richardson began to use the camera, even when he was a teenager at the farm parents, where they grew wheat and milk received, to the north of the town of Belleville in northern Kansas. He began experimenting with an old camera father photographing rural life stands for the local fair.
In 1971, he left to study psychology at the State University of Kansas and began an internship at the magazine Capital-Journal Topeka (Kansas). In 1986, he left his job at The Denver Post, to start a career freelancer.
For 15 years, Richardson published in many major publications, from Life and Time to Sports Illustrated and the New York Times.
