Many people remember the hysteria that preceded the year 2000. In any case, we recall that the problem lay in the fact that software designers of the XX century used two digits to indicate the year in dates. Therefore, it is unclear what should happen in the New Year's Eve 2000, when 99 years will be replaced by two zeros. Rumor has it that at midnight all computers will hang, and there will be some sort of apocalypse.
We all know that this has not happened. Until recently, did not know that only one person - a Canadian named Norman Feller.
Feller was a member of a small group of people who are confident that the end of the world will surely come with the arrival of 2000, and can only be saved under the ground. And yet, they calculated that the planet will take about 15 years to once again become habitable.
Therefore, before the New Year 44-year-old Norman went into the bunker, which has long been prepared in the backyard of his house ... and stayed there for almost 14 years, rising to the surface only in September this year. To be precise, Feller spent 5006 days in the bunker.
Once upstairs, Feller realized that he had lost a huge chunk of his life. He was amazed that many things, surprisingly, remained virtually unchanged. His house has not changed, the car was still standing in the garage. On the TV are all the same, "The Simpsons" ...
But then, starting to communicate with people and traveling around the city, he realized that changed still more: everyone and every wonderful mobile phones have gone missing, book and music stores ...
However, most of Norman Feller did not immediately new technologies (just think, he went into voluntary captivity before the era of color display phones), and double-sandwich restaurant KFC.
There were sad discoveries - such as Norman had to get acquainted with her new husband, Debbie, who was the companion of his life, "the bunker." Debbie told reporters on the eve of New Year Norman was entirely absorbed in the idea of ββthe coming destruction of the world, and she did not wait for an invitation to the "saving bunker." Upon his return, Norman tried to apologize, but his apology was accepted by more than cool. The house was not admitted.
"I realized one thing - we have to stop worrying that the world will end, and just live. We must prepare for the fact that the world will exist forever ", - concluded the former recluse.
