Secret depending on chips

staff of Erlangen-Nuremberg University in Germany have found the cause of addiction to some people, chocolate and chips. As it turned out, it is not in greed and hedonic hyperphagia, writes The Daily Mail.

According to study author Tobias Koch, the term means eating for pleasure, not quench the hunger. "Hedonistic hyperphagia may occur at any age and at some point become chronic, and as a result a person is faced with overweight and obesity," - explains Koh.

The work team of researchers scanned the brains of rats, as they were eating potato chips, powdered mixture of fats and carbohydrates, or regular meals in the granules. Rodents liked more chips, despite the fact that a mixture of fats and carbohydrates contained a similar amount of calories. Plain food is not aroused interest in rats. "The impact of chips on brain activity and feeding behavior can be partially explained by the contained fats and carbohydrates. Rather, in chips, there is something else that causes an irresistible urge to eat, "- says Koh.

Experts note that foods rich in fats and carbohydrates, activates the pleasure center in the brain, stimulating the desire to consume high-calorie foods. The results of the scan showed that the centers of pleasure and dependence in rats were more active when they ate chips.
