1941 - 1945 years. The heavy burden which bore the brunt of the people living in the occupied territory during World War II. The Germans did not spare anyone. The executions followed one after another. They were full of POW camps. At this point, many people have turned to God. They began going to church. Their moral choices was difficult. But it was particularly difficult to priests. Previously persecuted communists, they went back to their temples. Now they had to stand up to the end in matters of faith, to protect people from death, and to cooperate with the occupiers, to open the church for believers and non-believers, but seeking solace in faith people. The Orthodox Church was left with his people. It was organized by the church's mission in the Pskov region. Open previously closed churches, they resumed service. Father Alexander, son of John (Sergey Makovetskii) with her mother, Alevtina (Nina Usatova) also came to the land of Pskov to carry the faith of the people in this difficult time. Their life, dedication and devotion to duty, the choice between good and evil, the desire for purity of thoughts and purify human souls, about one small page of a great story and tells the film.
