Fire and the Vikings on holiday fire «Up Helly Aa»
This tradition has been going on for centuries. Every last Tuesday of January in the town of Lerwick, in the Shetland Islands that Scotland is celebrated event that occurred about 12 centuries ago. It was then that the islands were the Vikings.
Locals are building a ten wooden boat, with a dragon on his nose.
Wear traditional costumes of the Vikings, lift up the torches and the sounds of horns ship sneaked through the city on the coast.
The festival annually attracts about a thousand wishing to celebrate the fire.
About fifty selected Viking ship escorted directly.
