On that ill-fated day, our planet experienced more than 1,000 earthquakes of different amplitudes. The worst natural disaster occurred in Turkey and Syria. This has not happened in the last 85 years. But, unfortunately, these countries are not in the most favorable seismic zones.

After the incident, Turkish President Recep Erdogan began to regularly voice the updated number of victims. It started with 912 people and ended with almost 32,000. Together with the dead Syrians, the total number of victims at the moment is more than 37 thousand people.

People need food, warm clothes, tents, blankets and other necessities. Nature continues to add fuel to the fire: it has been very cold in Turkey this week. This further complicates the lives of local residents.

When such an incident occurs in the country, local authorities throw all their forces to eliminate its consequences. Erdogan said that 45 countries, including the EU and NATO, have offered Turkey their assistance. Rescue teams from the Netherlands and Romania came to the rescue on the same day. Ukrainian rescuers also arrived in Turkey.

The German Foreign Ministry said that they are ready to accept Turkish and Syrian refugees, as there are entire communities of these peoples in the country. However, only those who meet all visa requirements will be able to come.



The lack of diplomatic relations between Syria and many other countries in the world has dire consequences. Unfortunately, not everyone is ready to help the Syrians. However, ordinary people, wherever they are, can send a donate to a trusted organization White Helmets.

Celebrities are also not left behind. For example, Maxim Galkin decided to help the victims. The famous Russian showman, who emigrated from the country, has recently been actively touring the world. Just a couple of days before the terrible earthquake, the humorist announced a concert in Istanbul.



For obvious reasons, Galkin decided to postpone the event to April 2023. And all the money received for tickets already purchased, the man will transfer to the Fund for assistance to the victims: “I express my sincere condolences to the Turkish people.”

Other world stars also volunteered to help the victims of the earthquake. These are models Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, model Desire Mia, Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho, singer Antonio Banderas, Korean stars and many other artists from different parts of our world.
