The old woman ordered to add this to the water and wash kitchen cabinets to expel the moth

I recently started in my kitchen closet. food-moth. At first, I panicked because I thought I would never get rid of this scourge. But my mother reassured me and gave me an accurate plan of action. I share some useful information later in the article.

If you have a food moth in your kitchen cabinet, this is not a reason to panic. I agree, the situation is not pleasant. However, to correct this misunderstanding is quite simple. If moths are found, there are caterpillars. All we have to do is identify them. Carefully inspect all packages and containers with cereals, the inner corners of lockers.

Also, the moth loves to settle in dried fruits, dry animal feed, nuts, flour, spices, cookies and candies. Look for cocoons and cobwebs, which the moth likes to weave on the covers of cans and seams of food packages.

The first thing you need to completely empty all the shelves with cereals. Then check each package for the presence of moths and its larvae. If the cupboard is stored sealed jars, where the moth could not get, they should still be washed with hot water and soap. Better chores. All products stored in open packaging will have to be disposed of. Otherwise, you risk facing this problem again.

Then we move on to mechanical cleaning of the kitchen cabinet. It is best to vacuum it and then immediately empty the dust bag stored in the vacuum cleaner. The next step is wet cleaning. To do this, you need to make a solution based on vinegar. A regular canteen or apple will do.

Mix vinegar and warm water in a 1:1 ratio. Ideally, peppermint essential oil or fir oil should also be added to this mixture. With the help of solution, thoroughly wash all the walls of the kitchen locker. It is better to wipe all the surfaces in the kitchen.

There are special means to prevent the appearance of food moths and combat it. However, we are supporters of folk remedies that do no harm to humans. So, for example, as a preventive measure, garlic and cinnamon sticks are excellent. Add only 2-3 cloves to each jar of cereals. That's enough to keep the hated pests out there.

Also in kitchen cabinets you can place dried lavender, bay leaf, rosemary, wormwood or crusts from citrus fruits. Food moths do not tolerate these aromas.

To avoid problems with moths in principle, you need to store cereals correctly. Ideally, each of the porridges should be poured into hermetically sealed cans or containers. If this is not possible, do not buy a lot of cereals for the future.

The longer they will be stored in the factory packaging in the closet, the higher the likelihood that the moth will still start in them. As a result, such food will have to be thrown away. It is also better not to buy bulky products by weight.

No one can guarantee that bags of such raw materials were stored in the right conditions. And although already packed cereals are usually more expensive, this will save you from unnecessary fuss in the kitchen. If you do not buy a large number of cereals, they can be stored in the refrigerator. That way you'll keep the food safe and sound. By the way, you also need to store beans in the refrigerator.

Moth can not withstand high temperatures, so if there was a need to buy cereals in large quantities, pour it on the bowl and well calcined in the oven. Also, the moth is afraid of low temperatures: the purchased package with cereal or flour is placed overnight in the freezer.

That's all the wisdom for today! Be sure to share this article with your host friends. Down with the hated moth!
