There is one guy in our elderly workforce who is slightly less than 30 years old. So, he lives in Khrushchev, which his grandmother left him. But instead of rejoicing, he is indignant. And his whining is already quite annoying to me and other employees, writes Dmitry Olegovich.

“I lived in Khrushchev until the age of 17, under the same roof with my parents and younger sister. I don’t agree with the attacks of young people on such old apartments. Give these comrades only an excuse to indulge.”



“These people have not seen a time when for any family so small, but their own separate apartment was a real gift of fate. And even if at that time less care about aesthetics, but the task before the builders was different: to provide millions of citizens with affordable housing. And in order to accomplish such a large-scale work, it was simply necessary to save on many things.”



After people huddled in communal apartments, giving them small, but separate apartments was a real breakthrough, a big step forward. But, of course, young people who have not seen anything, who received such housing from their grandparents, do not know about those times.”

Are modern apartments so good? “Although it is enough to look at the modern apartments that are being built on every corner. Some tiny studios in high-rise buildings. No kitchen, no private bedroom. No cooking, no privacy. Even the bathrooms are so small that there is nowhere to turn.”

“Infrastructure developers build long and reluctantly, because the main thing for them is to collect profits, not to provide people with decent housing. And for such an apartment to give a few million rubles? Crazy! – surprised Dmitry Olegovich.



Indeed, in many ways the reader is right, because Khrushchev and today have advantages before new buildings. For example, in the classic five-storey buildings there are only a couple of dozen apartments (40-80). All tenants know each other, from here security is higher. And parking is less of a problem. In addition, the availability of housing and stable quality of construction only add to the advantages of such houses.
