Disadvantages of big feasts and why I no longer host grand celebrations at home

Reception and accommodation of guests is always a difficult task for the host and hostess. But lately, people are less and less going to big companies for family feasts. Instead, the hosts prefer a delicious dinner or not at all to arrange a feast. Why is that? Let's figure it out.



Formerly, every holiday, birthday or anniversary was celebrated with a set table and a huge number of guests. Many dishes were prepared, after which guests returned home somewhat rounded and sleepy. All relatives and closest friends came. And as the guests discussed the latest news at the table, their children played in the next room and waited to be summoned for sweets.



This has been the case in almost every home over the years. But at some point, this tradition began to gradually lose popularity. Not all families, of course, but the overall trend has changed.

On the one hand, it becomes sad to think that such fees are no longer such a frequent phenomenon. On the other hand, you're relieved. After all, when you are the hostess of such a feast, there is nothing to think about fun and rest in pleasant company.



In fact, in the rejection of large-scale feasts there are many advantages. The first is the financial side. Everyone knows that a large number of guests means a lot of cooking, as well as large purchases in shops and bazaars. Naturally, the culprit of the event is simply forced to fly a penny for one evening. Sometimes it doesn’t fit into a person’s plans.

The second is time and effort. To prepare a lot of dishes, you have to sit for hours in the kitchen, witchcraft over pots, pans, while constantly cutting something into salads. And you need to cook with a reserve so that all guests can eat. Otherwise, those same guests will say there was nothing to eat on your table.



Thirdly, if you arrange a large feast, then you need to invite the whole family. And so many people can simply tire. Moreover, the hostess, as a rule, does not even have much time for communication. Since she has to make sure that everyone has enough, she constantly goes for supplements and wonders who to serve.

Among other things, there is no guarantee that relatives will not start an argument at the table. Or, if there were not the most friendly relations between family members in advance, you need to make sure that the conflict does not become a cause of disputes. It's supposed to be a good night.



In the end, only the guests are really happy. And the owners of the house are tired with a mountain of dirty dishes in the sink and without a significant part of the money in the purse. Isn't it sad?

Why not take the same money and use it for some other kind of entertainment? Take family or friends to a water park or paintball. Guests will remember this and there will be no complaints about the table. At least because there will be no table. Think about how much energy can be saved by these alternatives.



Of course, no one says that you should forget about such feasts. How to receive your guests and in what quantity, it is purely personal. But sometimes a simple dinner with the closest can be no worse than a chic table.
