Instructions for planting winter garlic

Proper planting of garlic in many cases guarantees its yield. There are not many subtleties of landing, but they are. I'd better take them all into account.

Garlic should be planted no earlier than 30 days before the predicted permanent frosts. Otherwise, it will germinate and, being a cold-resistant culture, will develop less intensively. The head of garlic will not grow as large as we would like.

First, you need to choose a planting zone and prepare the soil. Garlic loves a sunny place, not darkened and fertile soil.

Compost should be applied evenly to the soil. And also oxidize it, since garlic does not like acidic soil. To do this, add ash, dolomite flour, egg shells.

If the soil is very dense, it will not be superfluous to make baking powders: vermiculites, coconut substrates.

The depth of the furrows for planting garlic should be about 10 centimeters. They should be located from each other at a distance of at least 15 centimeters.

Pay attention to the selection of planting material. Even if only one clove of garlic is damaged by disease, rot or fungus, the rest should not be used either. They are likely to be infected with the same damage only in the ground.

The main life hack is the method of landing. We suggest that you plant garlic not with cloves, as is traditionally the case, but with whole heads.

Why? First, it will save the landing area. Secondly, it will increase the yield of garlic.

From one clove of garlic grows one head. And from the head - several in the same area.

Do not worry about the garlic from the head growing small. If you plant him right, it won't happen.

How to plant? Plant each head from each other at a distance of 15 centimeters. Place the head on the bottom of the groove, but do not press it in any case. Otherwise, the soil in the area of the donets is tamped, the roots will not develop well, and the garlic will not mature to its maximum size. Then the furrows should be covered with earth, also without tamping it from above.
