Why are these people not raising their children?

I was recently visited by a friend with his wife and four-year-old son. And I have a little dog at home, a shar pei. Kind and well-mannered dog, never throws and does not bark, maximum can snort unhappy, but avoids conflicts. We love him very much.

Okay, so we're sitting with a buddy, hanging out, a kid messing around with a plastic toy hammer. The dog sleeps in the corner on his litter. Sleeping tight. At some point, a friend's son gets up, walks up to my shar pei and hits him on the head with a hammer.

He abruptly wakes up, raises his head, blunts with the look of “what was it?” and then a new blow follows. The child is having fun, laughing and hitting the dog again with a toy on the forehead. He makes a loud snort and turns away.

I say to a friend:

- Listen, take the baby. What is this news, torment animals? .

His wife replies:

- Why do you want to feed them, care for them if you can’t even play with them? See, the kid's having fun.

- He's having fun and the dog's hurting!

- Well, he'll bear what happens to him. That's why he's a pet.

Then I couldn't stand it, I got up, I went to their beloved child, I took the hammer and hit him on the forehead. A friend with round eyes jumps up off the couch and steps towards me. I managed to knock again, not hard, of course, but the little one began to cry out that he was hurt, that he could not be hurt because he was small, etc.

Friend:

- What are you doing? Why are you hitting a baby?!

- I'm having fun. Don't they have kids for fun?

Here again came his psychotic wife:

- I compared a child to a dog!

- What don't you like? I feed him, sing, care for him, walk him, raise him! You could say it's practically my baby! He's never been hit on the forehead for anything! Can't you pull your baby? Are you raising him at all?

- It's none of your business to talk about children! Your birth first!

- What kind of parents are you that can’t influence your son?

Here they abruptly gather and leave, cursed me and my dog (and promised to poison her).

I think to hell with those friends.
