The Church in Zhabyntsi
Zhabyntsi first mentioned in 1592. In the nineteenth year they were owned by families Gorodiskij. In 1860 Casimir Gorodissky built in Zhabyntsi stone Church, which was consecrated in 1872 under the title of the Nativity of the blessed virgin Mary.
In 1906, ekspozitura in Zhabyntsi received the status of a parish. At the same time was enlarged and the temple is re-consecrated in 1907. In 1885 the Church was served by the rector of O. Kazimierz Glowinski, 1903 — O. Titus Zaionchkovskii, 1912 — 1913 — Stanislav voynovskiy.
After the First world war, in 1921, the rector was FR Joseph Kuchinsky, and in 1938 the Church was engaged in administrator O. Mieczyslaw Krzeminski. The temple had a branch Church in GazIntech, Shvaikivtsi and Endurance (the latter is now current).
The story of the destruction of the temple began after the Second world war, when the Soviets closed the Church and adapted it for the household needs. At the time of independence the Church was not returned to the Roman Catholic community.
Probably because of the lack of that same community, because Zhabyntsi is a small village with a population of slightly more than 6 hundred people. More recently, the temple had a sharp tower. But a few years ago, the Church has completely failed roof, and the tower fell.
