Brown from Abruzzo

Before brown bears can be found throughout Eurasia from Ireland to Japan. Everything has changed – much of its former range brown Candyman destroyed. Italy is no exception.





Abruzzo is a region in Central Italy, with an area of small, only 10 794 km2. But the peasant inhabitants of this region are still taking place to the national Park where they are trying to protect and recover rare species. Like any other brown bear, the Apennine bear feeds on roots, fruits, berries, honey, small animals, and carrion. Almost all of the time he spends in the woods, only occasionally sobreda meadows. Bear are usually not seeking to meet man, therefore, most stakeholders find traces of it – stripped trees, paw prints in the snow, the stones that the animal moves in search of insects.





And it would be all good, if not for the sad statistics — Apennine brown bear there are only 50-80 individuals...
