Energy efficient settlement Stenlose South
"Stenlose South" covers an area of в76 hectares. Since plots acquired Agedom land was sold retail to private developers and to developers in the settlement rebuilt 750 cottages and townhouses. Under the terms of the experiment, the developers can design a home with absolutely any architecture, but each building must consume 35% less energy than required by the Building code of Denmark. This allows you to save 3.6 million kWh annually, and over 30 years (the average life cycle of buildings), savings amount to over 100 million kW.
All homes are modern and energy efficient technology. As insulation for walls, roof and Foundation materials are used on the basis of cellulose fibre of a thickness of several tens of centimeters. Heat exchangers-the heat exchangers take heat from air leaving the house through the ventilation system. For home heating and water heating used heat pumps that use heat from the ground and groundwater.
Some buildings in the village are made by the technology of passive houses, when using a very strong insulation and use of heat exchangers cottages are converted into a kind of "thermos", don't produce energy and therefore do not require external energy sources for heating. However, the economical Danes own ideas about the proper room temperature: in Russia in the homes in the winter, a few degrees warmer. The construction of energy efficient homes by about 7-10 percent more expensive than ordinary. The cost of construction of houses in Stensele, high even by Moscow standards — an average 1.7 million euros per sq. m. it is Planned that additional costs should be recouped in 15-20 years if the current energy prices and electricity.
