Teaching children Braille

Teachers are constantly developing new methods of teaching children in different areas of knowledge, however, learning Braille is not so much. Australian designer Mandy SHUK-man Lau (Mandy Shuk-Man Lau) decided to come up with their own way of easy learning for the visually impaired and blind children, based on the game.

It is specially created for visually impaired and blind children play Reach & Match Braille Learning Toy (Educational Braille toy "Stretch and challenge") was designed to allow to make learning Braille a more positive and enjoyable process. This toy is perfect for introducing children of any age with Braille literacy and teaching critical functional skills. This is a valuable writing system can easily be studied using this concept.

This toy is a bilateral sensory play panel, friendly and welcoming site, which is able to bring together in the game not only visually impaired, but sighted children. Once assembled, it is very compact and portable that provides an opportunity to carry it, so that it can be used, for example, coming to the house teacher.

The front side of the game provides advanced training, ideal for very young children, so they can learn about the engine characters and to identify the different tactile patterns. The other side is designed for older children (and can also be useful for adults) and provides a study of Braille, development of a sense of direction and motor activity, and spatial training.

The undoubted usefulness of this concept is confirmed by the unusually large number of awards: the idea was the winner of the Red Dot Award: design concept in the category "Education" national winner (Australia) competition James Diana, as well as six different competitions and prizes in social and educational categories. At the moment, this project already has functional prototypes, so we can hope that soon this toy will be released in mass production.
