Bigfoot electric monster

American pastime, the monster trucks on huge wheels are not created in order to slowly to get from one point to another, and even to transport cargo. Their mission, courage, demonstration of strength and power, which can't resist the rows of rickety cars. One of the effects monster show – the loud roar of engines. However, the latest model of one of the most famous Bigfoot tracks works surprisingly quiet. The novelty is equipped by the electric drive.

To create the world's first truck is a monster on electric, the company Bigfoot 4x4 Inc has joined forces with a manufacturer of batteries EnerSys. The result of the cooperation of the ODYSSEY battery, a modified version of a serial car batteries.

Electric Bigfoot requires 36 ODYSSEY PC1200 batteries. Thirty of them provide energy gluttonous electric motor of direct current with capacity of 350 horsepower developed by Denis Berube (Berube Dennis) on the basis of the motor Phoenix. More than a thousand Newton meters of engine torque transmitted to the wheels through a complex system of drive shafts and the planetary axes. The remaining 6 batteries are used to power the braking and steering system. All together 36 battery weigh approximately 624 kilograms, representing a substantial proportion of the weight of five-ton (4990 kg) of the machine.

Racing chassis E-body Bigfoot is crowned fiberglass Super Duty, specially designed for electric models. The "legs" of the monster – 25-inch steel wheels shod with 66-inch Firestone tires, inflated with nitrogen.

E-Bigfoot debuted in October last year at a show in Missouri, where he crushed his first car. The spectators, who were seen as destroying E-Bigfoot Ford sedan, was puzzled by an unusual noise, accompanied by demonstrations. Usually this show is roar of engines and smoke emissions, however, in this case fans have the opportunity to enjoy new experiences. For example, to listen and appreciate the tone of the glass crunching or grinding crushable metal.

"Many skeptics have suggested that we will never be able to make such a car" — said the representative of the Bigfoot 4x4 Inc Bob Trent (Bob Trent), commenting on the debut of electromaster. "This is just the beginning of what can and will make the truck".

Skeptics, however, are in no hurry to change their minds. According to them, the new monster is a little lacking power. On the show a rarity of cars with engines much more powerful than the electric motor E is Bigfoot. The output of the average truck is about 1000 HP

However, the creators of the world's first electric monster truck think that my biggest achievements are still ahead. Currently, the team work on the design is not fully completed, and the date of its first official participation in competitions is open to question.
