Built a green building, following the sun

Rotating "solar" home is the child of architect Ralph dish. 25 years ago, when in Freiburg, the hometown of Ralph, began construction of a nuclear power plant, he opposed and began to look for a safe alternative to such energy. In the end, there appeared a structure of cylindrical shape with a solar panel on the roof. The uniqueness of eco in that it rotates around its axis. So, during the day, following the sun, he "is" 180 degrees.

Heliotrope is a three storey residential building height of 14.5 m and a diameter of 2.6 m. the Total build area is 286 square meters. As the author says of the project, the performance of solar panels is 6.6 kW/h. According to expert estimates, the building will produce five times more energy than it needs. The "extra" energy can be devoted to other buildings that are located nearby.

In addition to solar batteries, in the construction of Heliotrope I've used other "green" technologies. Here, for example, provided a system of cleaning rain water and composting systems.
