Everyone knows the episode where the postman knocks on the door, and from the house hears: “Who is there?” There is a similar episode in the 1971 American animated film The Electric Company. There's a plumber knocking on the door, and a parrot's voice comes back.

The famous cat Matroskin was originally planned as a cat Taraskin. An employee of the film magazine “Fitil” had this name. But to use his surname Anatoly Taraskin banned Uspensky. Not much time passed, and Anatoly regretted it. He told the writer, “What a fool I was!” Sorry to give you your last name!

Levon Khachatryan painted Uncle Fedor’s mother with his wife, Larisa Myasnikova. Here's what Levon's notes say: "Small stature, wearing glasses, with a short haircut." Popov's correction was glasses. Hedgehog in the fog

This Soviet cartoon is very popular abroad. In October 2009, in the American animated series Griffins, a parody of Hedgehog in the Fog was used in one of the episodes.

According to a survey of 140 animators and film critics, in 2003, Hedgehog in the Fog was recognized as the best cartoon of all time.

In the famous animated series “Smeshariki” series called “Hedgehog in the Nebula” is created based on “Hedgehog in the Fog”.

In the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, a monument to the Hedgehog was erected. This happened in 2009. The monument is located at the intersection of Reitarskaya, Zolotorotskaya and Georgievsky lane streets. Hedgehog himself is made of wood, and needles are screws. A wooden hedgehog sits on a high stump with a knot.



Cheburashka

In the last cartoon “Cheburashka goes to school”, the main character cannot read. This is evident from his failure to read the telegram from Gene. But let's go back. In the cartoon "Crocodile Gena" on the announcement Cheburashka finds the Gena. And here's another example: in the cartoon "Cheburashka" the main character read the two poems written on the poster of the pioneers: "All unnecessary to scrap, collect scrap metal."

- Eduard Uspensky talks about where this idea came from to call Cheburashka exactly Cheburashka. I once witnessed a friend’s daughter try on a fur coat that was too big for her. As the coat dragged on the floor, the girl stumbled and fell. The father, after another fall of his daughter, exclaimed: "Oh, again, she was cocked!"

The word Ouspensky remembered well, and wanted to know its meaning. The comrade explained that "to go down" means "to fall down." That is how the name of the hero of this cartoon appeared.

The famous song of Crocodile Gena has been translated not only into Finnish, but also into Swedish, Japanese, Polish, German, Bulgarian, English and many other languages of the world.
