Lego robot sets world record for Rubik’s Cube assembly

As it turns out, there's a whole community of people competing to build a Rubik's Cube for speed. Even special competitions are held. Currently, the fastest man in this competition is Mats Valk from the Netherlands, he collects a cube in 5.55 seconds. There is also a record among robots – it was recently broken by the robot Cubestormer 3, assembled from Lego.
The puzzle destroyer, created by David Guilday and Mike Dobson, managed to enter the Guinness Book of Records with a cube collection time of 3.253 seconds. As a brain Cubestormer 3 is a regular smartphone, and all the mechanisms of the robot are made of a Lego designer. Assembling the puzzle is so fast that the human eye does not have time to see all the actions of the robot.

This crazy speed with which the robot operates has become one of the main problems in the development of Cubestormer 3. It’s hard enough to make sure your robot does something beautiful when you can’t even see it.

For the intellectual part of the Cubestormer 3 is responsible smartphone Samsung Galaxy S4, running on an eight-core processor Exynos 5. Next, the processor commands are executed by eight Lego hands, which rotate the cube.
