British activists are fighting food waste

Several non-profit organisations in the UK began a massive campaign to combat the dominance of food waste, which adversely affect the environment and the health of the nation. Also, throwing away food when so many hungry people in the world, at least unethical, according to TreeHugger.

The company FoodCycle opened across the country soup kitchens, which feed the homeless and the poor. Supermarkets give these institutions the products that would soon spoil and be thrown away. While it is possible, they feed the needy.





Also in London extra vegetables and fruits that may become waste sent for recycling, to make jam and preserves. Thus new jobs are created.
In the U.S. there are also initiatives to get rid of extra products. A group of activists in California crops damaged portions of fruits and vegetables and preparing of refined products dinners for the poor. Gleaning Network is only part of the larger project "Feeding the 5000", which is aimed at simplifying the processing of food waste in the United States.
