Robot seagull generates energy

Hearing the word wind turbine, we immediately imagine endless fields with hundred-meter poles with huge blades. Yes, this design is the standard for a wind turbine. But there’s one “but”: wind turbines don’t use wind efficiently enough.

And Festo, which is known for its seagull robot and dragonfly robot, has offered its own version of a wind turbine. The developers claim that such a wind turbine uses the wind more efficiently and generates more electricity. Festo’s project is called DualWingGenerator.

Engineers say that the design of the wind turbine used such things that could come up with only nature. For example, if you look at the blades in profile, they resemble the wings of a bird.

In this case, the wind turbine can adapt to any direction and wind speed.

Festo posted a video online where the developers explain in detail how it all works.
