5 tiny eco-houses on wheels
Surely, every person before the weekend has a choice - where to spend them. Often a person can not decide whether he wants to spend warm summer days on the beach, in the woods, or maybe it is better to walk to another city. Now you can choose all the options at once and have time to the beach, and on an excursion, and even go to the forest. Take your own portable microhome with you. There are a wide variety of portable houses: some are large enough and transported by trailer, some can be carried even by bicycle. Today we will consider five very unusual, but at the same time comfortable mobile houses.
Walking House by Studio N55
Danish experimental studio N55 has made a modular self-sufficient home that can walk. The “walking house” is a sustainable housing equipped with solar panels, microwindows, and a bio-toilet.
OTIS – Home of Green Mountain College Students
A group of students at Green Mountain College has created an unusual mobile housing for the Department of Renewable Energy and Ecology. They called it “OTIS” (Optimal Traveling Independent Space). In seventy square meters of the house, a sleeping area and a collector for collecting rainwater were placed. All energy needs are provided by solar panels, and the house itself is made of recycled materials.
MercuryHouseOne from Architecture and Vision
Italian studio Architecture and Vision has developed a futuristic mobile holiday home, which was presented at the Venice Biennale. The house, which was named MercuryHouseOne, is equipped with the latest sound and lighting equipment, but all energy needs are provided by the sun.
50s Airstream from Timeless Travel Trailers
Timeless Travel Trailers, an American company that produces converted outdoor cars and trailers, found an old 1954 Flying Cloud Airstream bus in good condition. The bus was originally used as a hunting and fishing lodge on the shore of a lake in Oregon. Now the restored bus serves as the perfect luxury home for people who love hiking and adventure.
Moby1's XTR Concept
Created by Moby1 stylish micro-camping is a modern version of the classic trailer of the 50s Teardrop Trailer. After the redesign of the XTR, the house now has a rooftop tent, a separate place for inflatable mattresses, running water, as well as solar panels for comfortable living in the wild.
