Tesla Motors announced record volume production of electric cars

The company Tesla Motors unveiled a report on the work in the first quarter of 2014 and made a forecast for the second quarter of the year.

During the first quarter of 2014 produced a record number of electric vehicles — 7535 pieces. End customers was delivered 6457 sedans Model S, which is slightly exceeded the initial forecast.

In the second quarter, Tesla Motors is planning to supply customers with 7,500 cars in production volume in 8500-9000 pieces. Overall, as expected, this year customers will be shipped more than 35,000 electric cars.

Commenting on the quarterly results, Tesla Motors founder Elon Musk announced that in June will be named the place for the construction of the first large plant for the production of Gigafactory batteries. It is planned to enter service in 2017, and in 2020 the production of lithium-ion batteries must not exceed the volume of world production of these batteries in 2013. within a few months Tesla Motors can also determine the location for the construction of a second enterprise Gigafactory.
