Dried plum restores bone in osteoporosis





    




Food with the addition of powder of dried plums helped to recover in mice bone lost due to normal aging processes.



The study's author, Bernard P. Halloran Medical center San Francisco reports that with age the bone density decreases, and because after age 50 develops osteoporosis.

Developed at the moment, medicine can only slow the loss of bone mass.

 

The researchers conducted experiments on laboratory mice at the age corresponding to the middle age in humans, and also took a group of rodents corresponding to the human age 60 – 70 years. Each group was divided into another three subgroups. One gave 25% dried plums in your daily diet, the second 15% of plums, and the third a normal diet.

 

After six months the mice that were not given plum have lost much bone mass. And rodents from the first two groups on the contrary increased it by 85% and 50% respectively.

 

Scientists believe they found a new remedy for osteoporosis acting on the basis of antioxidants.
