Several years we developed and practiced a unique orthogonal turbine technology, and are confident that it is ripe for industrial use," – said General Director of JSC "Lengidroproekt" Vladimir Pehtin.





According to the Memorandum, the parties will identify prospective tidal projects in Western Australia, the implementation of which is planned the use of orthogonal turbines and develop their feasibility. Western Australia is a promising region for development of tidal energy – power density of tidal energy in some areas of its coast exceeds 6.1 kW/m2. This is significantly higher than the same indicator in a number of ongoing projects in the world, the construction of tidal power plants.

The Russian company within the framework of cooperation will determine the main parameters of the tidal stations and their equipment, to adapt existing technology in the field of tidal energy projects in Western Australia, to participate in the development of the feasibility study and further design.
