The most common mistakes novice cooks

Chef and restaurant owner Jonathan Lowe shared with beginners who are just starting out learn culinary skills, their advice, which will help to avoid typical mistakes, and will not allow to spoil the dish.

So, the most common mistakes novice cooks is:

1. The excess spices

"Before, I used to add a dish of a dozen different condiments," admits Lowe. "However, to give the dish spicy, you can use no more than 3-4 spices to your taste."

2. Not warmed up pan as it should

Before cooking meat to hold the pan on the stove at least 5-7 minutes.

3. Constant stirring with a spatula

Most people believe that frying anything under the hood you just need to put the pan on a high heat and periodically stir the food with a spatula. But it is not. To keep food start to stew, shake the pan by the handle, allowing it to "bounce", but do not stir it with a spatula.

4. Disregard culinary thermometer

The thermometer in the oven will allow you to maintain the desired temperature when baking, your muffins and cupcakes will always be perfect.

5. A large amount of fluid during firefighting

Sometimes novice cooks add just enough water or wine that is poured almost entirely meat. In any case, don't do it. After all the difference between fighting for food and her cooking is great.

6. Replacement ingredients for similar taste

First, make sure that you are well known for the taste and chemical properties of products, which you are going to replace the usual ingredients. Otherwise, the compatible products may be impaired.

7. The overabundance of starch for thickening the sauce

Sometimes due to lack of patience we are adding too much starch or flour to the sauce turned out runny. But we should not hurry, otherwise, instead of a thick sauce you can obtain a tasteless, grainy and not very appetizing substance.
