In the Volgograd region implement a pilot eco-project

The most problematic to date in terms of liquidation is the dump in Uryupinsk. It was formed in the early nineties and today does not comply with the norms and rules of current legislation. To close the landfill, the regional ministry has developed a roadmap, including the removal of waste to legal landfills in the Volgograd region and the creation of an inter-municipal MSW landfill in the Uryupinsky district.

For the destruction of the landfill from the federal budget, the region will receive more than 300 million rubles. This will be the first step in the implementation of a pilot project to systematically eliminate old landfills.

According to Sergey Donskoy, the Volgograd experience in the future can be used as a basis for the implementation of similar projects in other regions of Russia.

In addition, it was noted at the meeting that the optimal model of MSW management in all regions is the creation of a single structure under state control, which should deal with all stages of work - from garbage collection to waste disposal.
