The research team of the University of Cambridge show that Sudoku and crosswords increase intellectual potential of children and should be included in the school curriculum.

In particular Sudoku improves memory of the child, and crosswords improve verbal fluency and perfect for lexical programs. The researchers believe that the puzzles give a significant psychological and cognitive benefits for pupils aged seven to 11 years.
Training specialist kat Donovan: "This study shows the clear value of puzzles within educational practice. They can be used ... but not used enough."
