How to stop heat ceiling
Apparently, one of those severe winters which are famous in Maine, and inspired engineer bill Helman to invent a device that functions as a ceiling fan that directs the warmed air from the ceiling to the floor.
Each of us must have noticed that in winter, when the house has heating system, ceiling, the air is much warmer than near the floor at a height of not more than 2 meters, where we usually live and work. Although the room and provides natural air convection, this is clearly insufficient for the efficient operation of the heating system – it turns out that in cold winters a large amount of heat energy is wasted heating the ceiling and not us.
A fan called Hot-Tubes, actually, and looks like a pipe. Inside of case is made of durable and lightweight Tyvek nonwoven material is a small fan that moves the air from top to bottom.
According to the inventor, this device is easy to install (fan Hot-Tubes can even just hang it on the hook on the ceiling drywall), very quiet, and highly efficient in operation. According to the estimates of Zelman, the device can work all winter 24/7, and it will be wasting electricity just 20 cents a day. Thus, the fan Hot-Tubes will not only contribute to reducing costs for heat, but also to reduce the so-called "cold spots" and to create a comfortable indoor climate in winter.
