No glue or screws — creative office made of cardboard
In the Netherlands, designers have made the office out of cardboard.
Joost van Bleiswijk and Alrik Koudenberg (Joost van Bleiswijk, Alrik Koudenburg) invented, painted and then gathered in the office for the company Nothing. They bonded all the parts without glue or other fastening materials. Instead, they used a system of grooves.
The interior is a classical and strict, but cardboard furniture smacks of the avant-garde. The basis of the office, put the idea of the company Nothing:
Nothing fuels the imagination like one idea, that of "nothing" did "something." The use of cheap junk material to create unique and memorable work space, seemed a good opportunity to demonstrate this.
All the furniture carefully cut out of thick cardboard. Turned the tables, bookshelves, columns, stairs and separate rooms. All parts can be easily replaced. If someone will paint the lid of the Desk, or stick it in pencil or otherwise spoil, it can be quickly replaced with new ones. Moreover, cardboard is a cheap material.
The furniture was collected from almost the knight's motto — "No glue or screws". Bleiswijk inspired such "old-fashioned" things like writing and chess tables, outdoor and hourglass.
In the works of Bleiswijk form always follows function. Of simple basic things designers put together classic interior that will not go out of fashion.
