Miito replaces the usual electric kettle

 


If you have at least one outlet, with a high probability for hot water you're using an electric kettle is because it's extremely user-friendly device. However, it is a problem when it comes to energy: kettles incredibly greedy. However, it is not so much the fault of the instrument, as the habit of their owners to boil more water than actually necessary. Two student designers set out to once and for all to solve this problem, and very radical way – completely getting rid of the kettle. The result of their labors was named Miito.

Miito is an induction heater. It consists of a stand that you should install a non-metallic container with a liquid. Then you put it in the heating rod, including stand, and the water is heated. This method has several advantages compared to using the kettle – first, you always heat up as much water as you need. Secondly, you are not limited to the manipulation of a water device with equal success heats the milk or soup. To heat one Cup of water the rod goes 60 seconds small teapot 500 ml — 2.5 minutes.





Miito seems like a pretty good solution already out on Kickstarter. Basic heater costs $ 100, and for $ 168 you get a kit, which consists of two cups, a kettle, and tea set from Berlin. Miito is not cheap, but you can return its value, thanks to significant savings on electricity it delivers.

At the moment the device has already fulfilled its crowdfunding goal of 80 percent until the end of the campaign, there is still 32 days. Supply of heaters will begin in April 2016, as the device must undergo stringent certification and only then go into mass production. However, now there are rumors about Miito 2, which will have a selection function the preset temperature to which to heat the liquid – this option will be very useful for soup, milk or coffee... posted
