How can I improve the efficiency of wind turbine?
Research physicists showed that only 59.3% of the kinetic energy of the wind can be converted into electricity using wind farms. Modern wind turbines are very close to this limit. It should be remembered that most turbines can produce electricity only if a certain wind speed. When the wind speed exceeds a threshold value, the control system adjusts the angle of attack of the blades, thereby maintaining the amount of generated energy at a constant level and preventing potential mechanical damage. This problem was solved by the researcher Jie Chen of the University of Nebraska (USA). He offered a very simple, but no less effective solution. Chen has created a prototype of a windmill that can use of excessively high wind speed for compressing and pumping air into a special tank. When the wind speed drops, the compressed air from the tank is used to spin up the turbine. published
