Wallpaper in the life of Russians

As you know, the Western people dislike wallpaper, preferring them to paint. On trips to Europe and America, it will be difficult to find pasted walls. Personally, I last encountered this phenomenon at the Moscow Hotel in Belgrade. It is clear that the name itself obliges to maintain a certain entourage.

Russia is a paradise for suppliers of the rolling industry. There are 5 million apartments in Moscow alone. Think about the potential number of square meters in need of new paper robes. Hence basins, pots, buckets of glue and miles of flieselin, vinyl, acrylic and fiberglass. Who can count them?
The insatiable wallpaper lobby is few kilometers away. Recently pulled its tentacles to the elevators: cabins in residential buildings will be pasted with vinyl wallpaper for the joy of Muscovites. Holidays in Russia, Moscow elevators, too. Way to go. )

Having lived his conscious life in an environment where wallpaper is revered, everyone knows that:

1. Many people like wallpaper. Especially pronounced - cats (for what you can beat). Puppies are for biting.
And if a poorly attached joint gropes the infant finger, then a half wall can be exposed at once. The effect and noise of paper peeling off the wall is exciting. You will not have time to understand what is happening, as your child climbs to tear off the last strip on the wall.

2. A companion is hard to find. Sticking wallpaper on the wall is a team process. The initiator is a woman, her instrument is a man. The latter will have to convince for a long time how bad the wallpaper is, why they need to be stripped and glued new ones. In the end, the bastion lying on the couch gives up, but it is too early to celebrate the victory. More than once in the process of adhesive there will be quarrels: “poorly spread”, “a corner broke”, “paper stuck and dried”, “glued obliquely”... It would seem a small room, and how much requires psychological labor. )

3. The colors will get bored quickly. So the whole process will have to be started first.

Conclusion: “Wallpaper is a relic of the past” or “without them, the apartment is not an apartment, but a hospital”? It's up to you. I'm for mixing: part of the wall, what you want to highlight, glue, the rest - paint tone. You can see the colors of the same Swedes:
