Exercises to reduce child anxiety

These games and exercises I used during group and individual sessions with children 5-8 years. They are like most kids and are quite effective techniques that work consistently. It is important that when the organization of the games was not competitive or policy elements, if the child does not want to participate — do not force it. Sooner or later he will join the game himself.



The game Compliments This game increases self-esteem and focuses children's attention on the positive qualities of group members.

The game: Called the first person out the door. Leading writes all the compliments expressed by the players in address of the party indicated, who said a specific compliment. The group, the facilitator warns that all the compliments should be sincere only, i.e. those characteristics and qualities which are really inherent to the fundamental party. The main party returns to the room, and the host reads the entire list. Then the host stops at every compliment separately, and the player's task is to guess who in the group said as a compliment. The player can call 3 people. If you guessed right, he summed score for the insight. The game is played as a contest for the most discerning.

 

The game "the Mood and gait"the Game is aimed at stress relief and muscle clamps.

Progress: to Offer the child to draw the fear (anxiety) in the form of blots. To offer to finish her positive traits (kind eyes, beads, bow) or to turn it into something good.

 

Theatrical play "Pump the ball"Relaxes the maximum number of muscles in the body.

The game: children are divided into pairs in which one— a big bouncy ball, the other pump inflates the ball. The ball costs, obmaknuv all over on bent legs, the arms, neck relaxed. The body tilted slightly forward, the head lowered (the ball filled with air). His companion begins to inflate the ball, accompanying the movement of the hands (they pump air) sound. With every flow of air the ball is inflated more and more. After hearing the first sound "C", he inhales a bit of air while straightening the knees, after the second "C" straightened the body, after the third — the ball is raised head, after the fourth — inflated cheeks and even hands away from the sides. The ball is inflated. The pump ceased to pump. Comrade ball pulls out of the pump hose. From the ball with force out the air with the sound of "sh". The body again goes limp, back to its original position. Then the children switch roles.

 

The game "the Wind blows on that.."the Game gives presentation to the children about the common interest that unites the group.

The game: leading stands in the center of the circle and says: the wind blows on someone with pigtails (who loves ice cream who doesn't like maths etc). Children who believe that they run up in the center of the circle, to the host, while others remain in place. Then the wind blows the other way (the facilitator asks the children to take their places). When they sat down on the chairs leading calls following feature. You can play in 5-10 minutes. Game "I got you"Improves self esteem, relieves muscle tension.

The second player at this time you need to accept the gift as if it really is kitty (flower etc.) Then the one who accepted the gift needs to establish visual contact with the next player and also give him a gift. The game lasts as long as all the participants will receive gifts.
