Philips company in cooperation with Ericsson has developed a new type of street lighting. Street lighting Philips SmartPole operate on the basis of energy-efficient led lamps and is equipped with technology support 4G LTE connection, which essentially turns them into wireless access points in the Network.

A pilot project for placement of street lights will be held on the streets of Los Angeles, which will soon be 100 rigs SmartPole Street Lighting. If the program proves successful, Philips will surely receive new orders for the installation of additional street lamps.





The development of the SmartPole lamps was carried out within the framework of the new strategy of the company Philips for the study and development of the market "Internet of things".
