Emotions are inherited through the female line
The centers of the brain responsible for emotions, mothers and daughters were very similar.
Just to clarify – this is not that daughter laugh at the same jokes and cry in the same breath, as mothers, and that those areas of the brain responsible for emotions, daughters and mothers like to a greater extent than mothers and sons or fathers and their children.

To such conclusion came the neuroscientists from the University of California in San Francisco, compared the structure corticolimbic system in 35 families. Under corticolimbic system understand complex plots and ganglia of the brain, including the hippocampus (which we often remember as one of the main centers of memory), amygdala (amygdala), ventromedial prefrontal cortex and anterior cingulate cortex. All together they manage the emotional sphere, but if something goes wrong, there is a risk of neuropsychiatric disorders up to the clinical depression.
When Heft Fumiko (Fumiko Hoeft) and her colleagues are using magnetic resonance imaging, compared the brain structure of parents and children, then – repeat – it turned out that corticolimbic system volume of the gray matter are particularly similar in mothers and daughters, but not mothers and sons, and fathers with their children. The authors say nothing about the similarity of emotional reactions from family members who have compared the structure corticolimbic centers.
It is tempting to relate the structure of the emotional centres with the emotions themselves, because we know, for example, that depression is really often passed on from generation to generation through the female line, however, there is still need for more psychological research.
On the other hand, it would also be premature to conclude about the genetic inheritance of emotional characteristics we know that the brain has higher plasticity, and discovered similarities in the structure can be the consequence of extracorporeal factors.
It may be that the mother and daughter who were in similar conditions occurred similar changes in the gray matter centers controlling emotions. To distinguish between genetic and extracorporeal factors could in a similar study, but only done with families in which children were the result of in vitro fertilization. In the near future, the authors of this going to do that is to analyze the structure of the brains of family members who have used in vitro fertilization.
Still, oddly enough, the comparison of the structure of the brain in "fathers and sons" was done only in animals, although clinical medicine such information can be extremely useful: knowing how the brain of a child is dependent on parental inheritance to the maternal or paternal line, it would be possible to prevent the development of certain neuropsychiatric disorders. published
