Nissan BladeGlider: an electric car with unique design

In 2013 Tokyo motor show, Nissan showed a concept car futuristic BladeGlider with a unique design. And now in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), presented a fully working prototype of this sports car.

BladeGlider embodies the concept of Intelligent Mobility. Nissan sought to develop an agile, economical electric car that would be able to move the driving pleasure to a new level.

One of the features of the machine advanced chassis configuration with a narrow front and wider rear track. This approach allegedly provides optimum aerodynamic performance, stability and control. At the same time realized the unusual arrangement of the seats in the cabin: the driver sits in the middle of the front two passengers.

Features of the body are highly placed middle line and side doors, the form of which determines the angle formed by two intersecting planes with the loops located on the rear edge. Body structure with an open top enhances the built-in safety frame.

BladeGlider powered entirely by electricity. Torque to the rear wheels comes from two electric motors with a capacity of 130 kW, one for each wheel. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes less than 5 seconds and a top speed exceeding 190 km/h.

Power is provided by highly efficient lithium-ion battery pack with capacity of 220 kW, consisting of five modules. Special cooling system designed to cool both your battery and motors.

The electric vehicle equipped with the system of redistribution of torque. If necessary, it automatically corrects understeer of the car, increasing the torque on the wheel that goes on the outer radius of the turn.

The developers of the prototype has revised the configuration of the driver's seat. The main display shows the speed, the charge level of the battery, on/off mode recovery of braking energy, as well as the scheme of change of torque. On either side of the main display there are two screen that transmitted the image from the rear view camera, mounted directly behind the front wheels. These cameras replace the exterior mirrors.

In Rio de Janeiro, Nissan will bring two prototype BladeGlider: one of them will be static on display at the booth in the Olympic Park, and the second will be offered to media representatives and VIP guests for test drives. published
