The American Zoo were shot gorilla in a cage to which the child fell

On Saturday, in the American Cincinnati Zoo, in an enclosure to the 17-year-old gorilla named Harambee fell to 4-year-old child. According to witnesses the boy crawled over the railing and fell into the water from a height of 3, 7 meters. In the video, which took one of the visitors, it is shown that the boy got up and took a few steps. At this time, the child ran to the gorilla, which initially some time just looking at the baby, and then began to drag it to the cage.

Experts say that if the 160-pound gorilla injected a sedative, it worked only a few hours, so the zoo team decided that the best option would be to shoot the animal.

Zoo staff was able to help the child before the police arrived. The boy was immediately taken to hospital with minor injuries. Now his life is not in danger.

Despite the opinion of experts, a large number of people on social networks have expressed their outrage at the death of a gorilla, accusing the boy's parents that they are not being followed. Others believe that the zoo did not do enough to secure gorilla enclosure.

Zoo responded to the criticism, saying that it was the first violation barrier for 38 years, and that the decision had to be made immediately in order to save the child's life.

On his Facebook page the boy's mother in response to criticism and accusations of negligence said the following, "I closely follow their children. Accidents sometimes happen, but I am grateful for the fact that the right people were in the right place. " Later, the woman removed her page on the social network.
