The most famous was the anti-alcohol campaign period of 1985-1987, at the beginning of perestroika, which was called "Gorbachev". By this time, the consumption of alcoholic beverages in the Soviet Union reached a record level in the history of the country. May 16, 1985 issued a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR "On strengthening the fight against drunkenness and alcoholism, eradication of brewing", reinforcing the struggle for administrative and criminal penalties. At the same time there was an active promotion of sobriety, including, of course, and with the help of the chief of the Soviet propaganda tool - posters.
